Hi. My name is Lynn C. Weeks and I am the counselor for EHS. I am proud to say that "Elba is Home to me". I am a 1979 graduate of Elba High School and while a student at EHS, I was active in Band and numerous clubs and organizations. I later graduated from Troy University with a BS degree in Social Science Secondary Education then later, through TSUD, earned a MS degree in Social Science and a MS degree in school counseling. I also hold an Education Specialist degree, a Psychometry certification, and an Education Leadership certification. It is because EHS is my alma mater that I feel very privileged to hold the position that I do at Elba High. I enjoy my job and enjoy being available for the students of EHS. I taught History and Spanish at EHS for 17 years before becoming a counselor. I began counseling in 2000. In my role as counselor for grades 7-12, I am available to counsel with students on a variety of issues while also working with them on scheduling, testing, and career and educational planning. I work closely with senior students in planning their future and in trying to secure scholarship monies that would help them to realize their educational goals. I oversee our Remedial Program, ACCESS and IVC labs, and the Dual Enrollment Program. I also teach General Psychology and Ethics to accelerated high school students. In addition to serving as counselor at EHS, I also serve as the Test Coordinator and Accountability Coordinator for the Elba City School System. As System Test Coordinator, I am responsible for the dissemination and collection of all materials necessary for the numerous state-mandated tests administered throughout the school year in grades K-12. Once test results are in, it is also my responsibility to interpret and analyze test data. In my role as Accountability Coordinator, I am responsible for seeing that both schools in our system adhere to the federally legislated act of "No Child Left Behind" and that both schools and our system make "Adequate Yearly Progress". I am married to Danny Weeks. I have two wonderful children, Christina Cook Anderson (husband Tom) and JD (Jimbo) Cook. I also have two beautiful grandchildren, Jack and Ben, whom I adore and spend as much time with as possible! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time at the beach with family and friends, reading a good suspense novel, watching Alabama football, skydiving, and Nascar.
